Areas of work

Rasmus Tue Pedersen's main area of research is how people relate to politics. Among the focus areas of his research are the population’s knowledge of politics, political views, faith in politicians and their participation in elections. However, he also carry out research on politicians, e.g. their views and their perceptions of politics, working conditions and wages. Finally, in previous research projects he has investigated the role of the media in Danish politics, especially in relation to the importance of media for the population’s perception of politics.

Methods

Rasmus Tue Pedersen mainly uses quantitative methods. He has expertise in questionnaire surveys and the use of experiments in questionnaires. In addition to this, he carries out registry-based research, and in previous projects he has worked extensively with quantitative content analysis of texts.

Background

Rasmus Tue Pedersen holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from University of Copenhagen. He has a PhD in Political Science from 2014, and before hisemployment with VIVE in 2018 he was a researcher at University of Copenhagen and Copenhagen Business School. Prior to his career in research, Rasmus Tue Pedersen held an administrative post in the Ministry of Science and worked as a consultant in a private consultancy firm. Therefore, he also has extensive knowledge – both from the inside and outside – of further education programmes and the world of research.
