This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:

This review systematically collects and synthesizes evidence from evaluations of causal effects of interventions designed to improve employment outcomes for non-western immigrants. The review aims to answer the following questions:

1) Do interventions designed to improve the economic self-sufficiency for non-western immigrants affect participants employment, use of cash assistance, income, job retention?

2) Do effects differ depending on program content or populations served?
