Areas of work
Alexandrina Schmidt works primarily with social vulnerability, social work and digitalization. She has a particular interest in how the digitalization of the public sector affects the encounter between professionals and citizens.
Methods
Alexandrina works primarily qualitatively and is experienced in conducting qualitative interviews, both with socially vulnerable people and professionals, as well as fieldwork. She has a particular interest in using creative methods, e.g. visual methods, narrative approaches, etc.
Background
Alexandrina Schmidt is a sociologist from the University of Copenhagen and a PhD from Copenhagen Business School, Department of Organization. Her PhD dealt with the digitalization of Danish job centers with a focus on social work and vulnerable citizens. Here she argued for a mundane understanding of digitalization and how this changes the encounter between social workers and vulnerable citizens. Before her PhD, Alexandrina also worked with other areas of social vulnerability, such as homelessness, drug use and treatment, youth placements and crime in a position as an analyst and student assistant at VIVE.
