Main areas of work

Marie Henriette Madsen works with surveys and evaluations of current interventions that affect management and organisation in the health service. Quality development and control is an area of special interest in her work, and she is interested in, for instance, the new organizational roles that arise when the extent and importance of quality work increase, and in how specific interventions concerning quality development and control affect organisations and professions. In recent years, she has investigated how a new management ideal – value-based management – has been implemented in Danish hospitals.

Methods

Marie Henriette Madsen works with qualitative methods, including interviews and observation. Moreover, she is often involved in surveys in which other methodical approaches are used, and she has extensive experience of carrying out analysis involving both qualitative and quantitative methods.
