On The Edge of Society
- The Social Sector The Social Sector
Being socially excluded means being fully or partially restricted from participation in different areas of social and everyday life. Furthermore, the socially excluded do not have the option to take part in social relationships and activities that are normal for the majority of the population.
This study identifies and describes different groups of the socially excluded in the Danish population. The study identifies what characterises the groups, for example in relation to demographic factors, labour market attachment and health conditions. Special focus is on describing the parts of the population with a particularly difficult life situation in a number of areas.
The study is based on a representative sample of the Danish population, in which a total of 2,292 respondents participated in a quantitative questionnaire survey.
